Product Care

General

  • Never cover damp furniture, as trapped moisture can cause mould. Only use breathable covers on dry items—never over cushions, which should be stored separately in sealed bags. Check furniture regularly, even when covered.

  • Always use a suitably weighted base with parasols, especially with glass-top tables. Remove parasols when not in use or during windy weather, as damage will void the warranty.

  • Foldable items should fold easily—do not use force.

  • Avoid sitting on furniture while wearing sun cream, self-tan, or body lotions. Use a towel to protect the surface.

  • Clean spilled drinks quickly with an absorbent cloth.

  • Remove grease/dirt promptly using warm soapy water, then rinse with lukewarm water.

  • Do not jet wash any furniture except for the Winawood range.

Aluminium Products

  • Cast Aluminium furniture requires very little maintenance. Clean it with warm soapy water and a clean cloth and rinse with water.

  • Do not place hot dishes directly onto table tops and ensure spillages are cleaned away quickly with a
    clean damp cloth.

  • Do not jet spray the furniture as this can cause damage.

  • Painted aluminium can corrode faster when exposed to salt water and sea air. If your furniture is in a coastal area, regularly wipe it down with water to help reduce this effect.

Wood Products

  • Natural end grain cracking may appear as the wood dries, especially on armrests and table edges—this is normal, not a fault.

  • Untreated wood will weather to a silvery grey.

  • Use wood cleaner at the start and end of the season to remove dirt—follow the bottle instructions.
After cleaning, lightly sand to even out colour before applying wood oil.

  • Apply oil to both visible and underside areas, wiping off any excess with a dry cloth.

  • Tighten fittings yearly, as wood movement can loosen them.

  • Do not jet spray—this may damage the wood.

Weather-Resistant Cushions

  • Small spillages on cushions can be cleaned with soapy water and a clean cloth, then left to dry.

  • We recommend storing cushions when not in use or during extended periods of bad weather.

  • Most of our cushion covers are removable and can be hand-washed in lukewarm water.

  • Over time, cushions may fade due to ultraviolet light exposure—this is a natural process and not covered by the guarantee or warranty.

  • Do not machine wash season-proof cushion covers, as it may damage the water-resistant lining.

  • Avoid storing loose cushions under furniture covers for long periods. Clean spills immediately with an absorbent sponge or cloth.
  • While not water-proof, Our weather-resistant cushions can be left out in light showers. If the inner filling gets wet, remove the cover and allow it to dry for at least 48 hours before use.
